GPT Chat, Oura Ring and Beyond! - Baltimore County Moms

We hear a lot about the negatives of technology on our health, particularly surrounding our kids and screen time and smartphones. And while nobody would argue that doom-scrolling into the wee hours is helping us live our best lives, there are some smart ways to use tech to get healthier this year.

Below, we’re sharing 5 tech-savvy ways to prioritize wellness:

Let Chat GPT Give You a Plan

Chat GPT is like that friend that knows a little about everything. Channel its ability to collate and organize fitness info and ask it a prompt including your fitness goals, interests and time availability. Then use the results to get the jumpstart you need. You can even ask it to help you meal plan and grocery shop, while staying in a calorie deficit.

Fitness Wearables

The most popular wearables—the Whoop band and the Oura Ring—both track sleep, fitness and recovery, heart rates and more. The more expensive “Life” Whoop also tracks ECG readings and detectors AFib, as well as women’s hormone levels. The Oura ring also records sleep scores, heart health and metabolic wellness, in a more compact ring. Reviewers say the less conspicuous Oura ring is more of holistic tracker while the Whoop offers additional versatility for fitness fanatics.

Download a Personal Trainer

Fitness AI Apps like Fitness AI Gym Workout Planner and Fitbod develop a personalized workout based on your goals, track your progress and aim to consistently increase your fitness per your goals. Some same Chat GPT is all you need to get started, but AI Apps can help those ready for the next level of customization.

Buy a Brick

The new Brick device basically turns your smartphone dumb for as long as you want it to. You tap your phone to the Brick, and it temporarily deletes any apps and websites you choose. You can also designate different modes for Work, Home, etc. (so if you need social media for work, for instance, but want to stay off of it after you pick up your kids…problem solved).

Make Time for a Meditation App

Calm and Headspace make starting a meditation practice simple. Calm offers a variety of content, including tools to help you sleep and relax, in addition to meditate. Headspace is a focused intro to meditation with expert-lead, structured mindfulness.
