Meet a Mom: Angie Taylor - Baltimore County Moms
Meet Angie, a Baltimore County mom of one daughter, wife, teacher, and brand partner for Young Living. Angie shares parenting tips & tricks, life as a toddler mom and all about living a more low-tox, cleaner living.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your family! Where did you grow up? How long have you lived in the area?
I’m Angie I was born and raised in BC.  My husband and I actually went to the same elementary school – but I am a year older (he knew me but I didn’t know him).  I went to BC elementary, middle, and high schools and attended Towson University.  We still live in BC with our almost 5 year old.  I am also a kindergarten teacher in BC.
What do you love about Baltimore County and what made you consider raising a family here?
I love smalltimore 😊Everyone knows each other somehow and is always willing to help each other out.  We also knew we wanted to stay near our extended family.
What is your favorite thing to do locally as a family?
We LOVE going to the Hereford Farmers Market.  Taking family walks around our neighborhood or on the NCR trail is a favorite for our little tribe. And no week is complete without a session at the Oregon Ridge playground.
Tell us about being a teacher! What is your favorite and least favorite part?
I always wanted to be a teacher and have always LOVED working with kids. I have a dual bachelors degree in elementary education and special education, a masters degree in Reading, and a certificate in Early Childhood Education. My favorite part is watching my students persevere through a difficult task then turn to me and say “I can do hard things”, a school family cheer we say each morning!

You talk a lot about non-toxic products, can you tell us about Young Living and what you love about it?
Young Living is our family’s easy button to truly clean living. We went all in on clean living when we started our IVF journey. Young Living has everything from thieves cleaning products to supplements, personal care products, diffusers, and essential oils.

What is your best advice for a family looking to switch to non-toxic products? Where do you even start?
Make one switch at a time. Start with one of the make a shift kits. Create a FREE account and join our growing community and Facebook group for all of the tips and tricks of clean living.

How do you find a balance between being a mother and work? Do you have any tips for other working mothers?
I am constantly working on this – Compartmentalizing works for me. During the week I do my daughters hair because it’s a time in the morning where we can slow down for just a minute and chat. I take my daughter to school then head to school myself. I power through the day and get as much work as possible completed while there. I am home by 6pm most nights. I may get an hour at the gym somedays other days I get 20 minutes. I try my best not to be on my phone or do any work until after bedtime. Then if I have to I’ll do some work after a shower, dishes, laundry, etc. 😊 I also feel like there are some parts/times in our lives where balance is a little easier than others.

Anything additional you’d like to share?
I enjoy sharing my teacher brain so other parents can have the same tools I do while raising their littles. Check out my IG account @taylortribe410 if you’re looking for parenting tips & tricks, a peek inside a kindergarten classroom, or life as a toddler mom.

We strive to support local businesses! What is your favorite place in the Baltimore County area to:
Grab coffee: we don’t drink coffee but I drink Young Living’s NingXia Red every single morning and love Dunkin’ Donuts hot chocolate
Go on a date night: We love to try new food places. Some current favorites: Il Basilico, Tacos Way, Cu Vino, Michaels, Pho Tan My, and Wood Fire Kitchen usually followed by grocery shopping 😊
Get dinner with your family: When we go to dinner with the whole fam (grandparents and aunts and uncles) Casa Mia’s, Woodfire Kitchen, Mission BBQ, Chilis (chips & salsa always!), Texas Roadhouse
Have fun as a family: Hereford Farmers market, Oregon Ridge nature center – walks – playground, Blue Star Farm, Valley View Farms, NCR Trail, neighborhood themed walks (spooky, holiday, flashlight, etc)
Engage in self care: I go to the gym, walk on our treadmill, or take my toddler on stroller walks. I love to bake (especially when stressed) but I usually give all the cookies to Tighe’s preschool teachers or the other teachers at my school.
Shop for your kids: We love Kid to Kid Timonium. We are so fortunate that my mom (grandma) makes a lot of Tighe’s dresses and purses to match
Local charity: volunteer at our church, numerous charities not one specific one
