Please tell us a bit about you and your life in Baltimore County. What do you like to do as a family?
Both my husband (Andrew) and I grew up here! I grew up in Timonium, he grew up in Towson, and when we got married we bought our home in Lutherville in 2012 and have been gradually renovating it ever since then. Our son is 20 months so our “hot spots” these days are MyGym, Meadowood Park, the Oregon Ridge nature trails & nature center, and right now his favorite thing to do is just running around our back yard! We are also expecting a baby girl at the end of May and spending a lot of time preparing our new nursery and getting ready to become a family of 4!

What do you love about Baltimore and the neighborhood you live in?
We just love the convenience and community of Baltimore County! We live in the Seminary Ridge neighborhood in Lutherville which has so much going for it… super convenient to 695 & 83, walking/biking paths throughout the neighborhood, tucked away pockets of green space, tons of families, and really sweet events for kids throughout the year.

What made you decide to become a realtor and how did you get to where you are today?
I was lucky to fall into the industry organically. My freshman year of college at Towson, I started working as an assistant to a successful agent. I learned a lot about the business from her, and when I graduated in 2007, I had a degree in marketing & advertising, but decided to take the dive of full self-employment and launching my career in the industry full time. I haven’t looked back! As my business grew, I eventually had more clients than I could handle, and in 2013 I formed The Beliveau Group. We are a small, boutique all-female (and all moms!) team focused on providing the highest quality service for our clientele, who are predominantly in Baltimore County & City.

What differentiates your business from other realtor groups?
Quality, experience, and concierge service! We are obsessed with providing an unforgettable client experience, and are known for special, thoughtful touches & throwing really great events. Everyone on our team has years of experience and knows the nuances of this area extremely well. On top of the regular services most realtors provide their sellers, we operate as a concierge for everything in the listing process – including coordinating & estimating all repairs needed for resale and staging our clients’ homes at zero cost. We’ve built a full inventory of staging materials over the last decade – it makes a huge difference in our clients’ ultimate sales price, and costs them nothing!

What piece of advice would you give to someone looking to buy or sell a home?
The most important thing in today’s volatile economy & real estate market is to know your numbers. With home prices and interest rates rising at the same time, we work really closely with our clients to achieve extreme clarity on the financials, which empowers them to make smart decisions and feel confident about their choices. With the economic volatility we’re currently seeing, working with an agent who has a lot of experience and the ability to analyze and understand the complex interplay of national/world events, interest rates, supply, and demand is absolutely crucial.

What’s the best feedback that you’ve ever received from a client?
We are fortunate to get raving reviews from our clients all the time… the feedback we get most consistently is how much our clients appreciate the fact that we are organized, really proactive with communicating, have a ton of experience in Baltimore, and that we bring a personal and loving touch to every piece of the process. It’s not just a transaction – it’s a long-term relationship for us and we want our clients to know how much we appreciate them and how important they are to us!

What are the biggest challenges you find your clients to have during the home buying/selling process and how do you take initiative to help them?
The biggest challenge we’ve faced since the start of COVID is that supply and demand are totally out of balance! There is a TON of demand for homes (even now – with higher prices and interest rates) and very little supply, aka “inventory.” For buyers, it has generally meant that it takes longer to find a home than it did pre-2020, and when you do find a great house, it’s often a competitive situation. We have so many tricks up our sleeves to be the winning buyer, and the agents we work with on the other side of the transaction regularly compliment our creativity and proactivity in helping our buyers secure the deal. We also work hard to source off market inventory and bring our clients options that aren’t on the MLS (and are therefore less competitive!).

What do you predict the real estate market to look like in the next coming months?
More of what we’ve been seeing for a while – volatile interest rates, heavy competition for well-maintained homes in desirable locations, with a splash of uncertainty due to things going on right now with the economy, bank stability, etc. Working with an experienced pro is absolutely essential right now!

What else would you like to share (i.e. mom life/advice, additional details about your business, contact information, website, etc.):
My biggest mom life lesson so far is to accept all help and resources that are offered to you! Running a business, running a household, raising a child, and caring for yourself is a LOT. Keeping clear on my key priorities and graciously accepting support wherever I can get it has been huge. I have also learned to ask for help more than ever, I’m used to being everyone else’s helper. The best place to learn more about my real estate team is at www.thebeliveaugroup.com, and the best place to connect with me personally is to follow me on IG @tinabeliveau. One other personal fact for me is that I teach a weekly spin class at Core Cycle Studios in Timonium (@corecyclestudios), which is my fun/passion outlet!

We strive to support local businesses! What is your favorite place in the Baltimore County area to:

  • Get coffee: Baltimore Coffee & Tea
  • Go on a date night: Bluestone never fails us! The food and service are always great, and it’s so convenient.
  • Get dinner with your family: Five Guys is our go-to… especially after a long week! Our son is a french fry aficionado.
  • Have fun as a family: We are summer people and love the pool! We just joined Mays Chapel Swim Club and can’t wait for it to open.
  • Engage in self care (i.e. nails, hair, spa): I have been seeing April at Pro Nails in Timonium for over a decade, she’s the best for nails! Laura at Soiree Salon in Cockeysville has been doing my hair forever… she keeps my highlights on point! My newest addiction is going to DryBar and letting them style my hair while I catch up on work emails & tasks. I just got a membership!
  • Shop for your kids: Wee Chic is my kryptonite.
  • Local charity: I just launched the Baltimore chapter of The Napkin Network! The Napkin Network is a tiny grassroots nonprofit that gets diapers, wipes and formulas into the hands of moms in need. If you are interested in helping our fledgling Baltimore chapter, please DM me on instagram and let me know! We are planning a diaper drive for later this spring and hope to get the word out to more local moms about how they can help.
